  • The Castaway's Wife

Mixed Media - Acrylic, gouache, and watercolor 42x59.4cm

She was neither young nor old. She was wealthy and cultured, and yet they tore away the piece of skin he occupied in her delicate heart. She never smiled again because she had never done so before. Only a half-smile formed on her face when she understood her husband would not return; she loved him, she loved him as if he were a whim, and she desired him like one who desires to achieve a dream. She realized that he did not shipwreck; he fled from the pain that her arrogance caused him. She shone with the radiance of the moon, and also with the scorching heat of the August sun. She was so haughty that she only made the people who once loved her feel tiny and empty... she could offer them nothing more. Her delicate heart waits for him, but now without hope.
