The girl on page XX

  • The Castaway's Wife

Mixed Media - Acrylic, gouache, and watercolor 29.7×21cm / Bound

"Why do you look at me like that, child? Is there something you want to tell me?" She looked at the other wives with contempt. She looked with contained rage, with a superiority disguised as indifference. She was hurt by the world, unable to understand or accept it. Injustice left her sidelined; she lost herself on the path of life. Her nights grew long, her emptiness became commonplace, and she forgot her creed so completely that she was almost happy. "I look at you because your light decomposes me, and I want to tell you that I no longer feel alone; that is why I am able to speak to you," she said to the rage and the injustice. Her path in life was never lost, because it had never existed before.
