The girl on page XVII.01
- The Castaway's Wife
Mixed Media - Acrylic, gouache, and watercolor 42x59.4cm
Guilt slept with her, embraced her at night, and accompanied her in her loneliness. Guilt signed her bills; guilt was her face in the photographs they took of her. Guilt disguised itself as sex when she touched herself, and guilt was the soap she used to wash herself afterward. Her world was guilt, because she saw herself as guilty of everything; breathing guilt, listening to guilt, digesting guilt in every mouthful of guilt that fed her... She never felt alone again because guilt became the only feeling capable of filling her; above love, guilt invaded her and made her its own.
