The girl on page XXVII

  • The Castaway's Wife

Mixed Media - Acrylic, gouache, and watercolor 29.7×21cm / Bound

Sadness drowned her in weeping. She was naked in life; she only had money and objects to care for her. Tireless in her search, she finally succumbed to her own logic: he had left her with everything she wanted—her own tears. They were transparent and salty, irritating her eyelids as they fell, always sterile and arid upon her expressionless and lifeless face. They slid between the curves of her body, the folds of her face, and over the marks of the bones that peeked through the corners of what she once was. Now she only had a sea of weeping, a raft to drown her sadness, and an embrace with her insatiable loneliness. She had everything he left her when he walked out of her life.
