The girl on page XXI.01
- The Castaway's Wife
Mixed Media - Acrylic, gouache, and watercolor 42x59.4cm
She was translucent. She was frost on the grass in autumn. Cold and vegetal. She was a forest of fir trees, with that scent of cleanliness, with perfume—toxic and resinous. She remained naked; the news did not encourage her to dress, to go out into the living room and keep asking questions. Her stage was limited to the four walls of her tiny room, where no other emotion could fit. She smiled with a very slight, very discreet grimace. Her smile, a mere friendly accessory, a makeup to hide the reality of her inner weeping. These tears fed her forest of fir trees, refreshing the branches and watering the grass she displayed of herself, while she gradually turned into the cold, translucent woman.
